DECIDE HOW WE HELP OUR COMMUNITY
With the help of the Learning by Giving Foundation, we identify needs in our community that align with the values we determined are most important to us in class.
GRANT COMMITTEES
We recognize that there are a number of tasks involved in awarding the $10,000 grant this semester. To use time efficiently, we have four committees to perform some of these tasks independently and present their work to the class as a whole for approval.
These committees include: the student ambassador committee, mission committee, evaluation/rubric committee, and check presentation ceremony.
COMMITTEES
STUDENT AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE
Madison, Gina, Sydney, and Kimberly
This committee works with the Learning by Giving Foundation to tell the story of the class, documenting the process by which the class makes charitable decisions. This committee does work throughout the entire semester, primarily collecting short reflections from students and taking photos for this class blog.
MISSION COMMITTEE
Svasia, Miranda, and Natalie
This committee was tasked with crafting the class mission statement reflecting with priorities and values determined in our early class discussions.
EVALUATION/RUBRIC COMMITTEE
Hailey, Rae, Jaymi, and Kyra
This committee was tasked with considering the criteria to be used in evaluating the non-profit agencies by making a rubric the class will use to evaluate the different agencies.
CHECK PRESENTATION COMMITTEE
Samantha, Rachel, and Khouloud
This committee was tasked with planning and helping to publicize the check presentation celebration.
